Our Springertag was inaugurated in 1956 by Max Kinast and Heinz Kitzig. Shortly after the completion of the Neptun indoor swimming pool, the sport of diving, which has been an Olympic discipline since 1904, moved into the distinctive building on Kopernikusstraße. Since then, diving has become inseparably linked to Rostock, garnering many fans here and throughout Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Moreover, generations of Rostock residents took their first swimming strokes in the diving pool and were occasionally scouted for diving from the poolside.

This year, we are hosting this competition for the 67th time. Not only has the diving facility changed its appearance, but the competitions have also evolved: for instance, women's platform diving has been included since 1912, and synchronized diving became an Olympic event at the Sydney Games in 2000.en in Sydney 2000 olympisch.

In recent years, mixed competitions have been introduced. The mixed team event has been part of the program since 2015. On March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, our audience can witness up to four female and male athletes performing individual or synchronized dives from various heights consecutively, with their scores combined at the end.
So, be excited and cheer on the athletes. After all, our audience is renowned for that.
